Mitch was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was everything to him.

He was born to Mitch and Everilde Parenteau on March 6, 1938, in St.Paul, Minn. They moved to Livingston when Mitch was a baby. That is where he spent his school years and also met his wife of 53 years, Audrey Parenteau.

Their first two daughters were born in Livingston. In 1960 they moved to Missoula, where two more daughters were born. Mitch drove truck for Empire Fish Co. to take care of “his girls.” Then, as Mitch was starting his apprentice as a electrician, he received another blessing with the birth of their son.

In 1975 they moved to Superior and started Forest Grove Electric. In Superior they filled their lives with family and lifelong friends and received a love for their church that has lasted a lifetime. Mitch and Audrey had a place on Echo Lake, where they spent all of their youthful years enjoying with sister-in-law and her family. The rest of his years were spent going to see the kids and enjoying them and their families. In 1980 Mitch went to work at Stone Container, where he retired in 2003.

In 2006 Mitch was diagnosed with kidney failure. He began dialysis and remained on dialysis until his death. Many thanks go out to the dialysis center for the care and the kindness he was shown, and to the friends who helped transport him and who took time to visit him.

Mitch was preceded in death by his father, mother and three sisters, Claudette Mallon, Celine Nelson and Virginia Parenteau.

Mitch is survived by his wife Audrey; sister Carol (Jerry) Finn of Oconto, Wis.; and their children, daughter Donna (Steve) Lime of Post Falls, Idaho, and her children Melissa Sullivan. Dustin Williams and Kenneth Williams; daughter Tamara Parenteau of Casper, Wyo., and her children Nicole Erhardt and Ryan Erhardt; daughter Teresa (Duane) Knoll of Glendive and her daughter Shawna McMullin; daughter Michelle Mitchell of Spokane and her children Nathan Burr and Megan Parenteau; son Mitchel Joseph (Gina) Parenteau III of Stanwood, Wash., and their children Lexi Parenteau and Trevor Parenteau. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Donna (Dan) Conway, and many nieces and nephews.

A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, and a funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, both at St. Mary’s Queen of Heaven Church in Superior. Father Bart Tolleson will officiate at both services.
