Joe Job (A-Mechanic -Oiler) - Class Of 1994 VIEW PROFILE

HAMILTON - Joseph Raymond Job, of Hamilton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, of congestive heart failure.  Joe, 79, prior to retiring, was an oiler in the maintenance department of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp.

A private burial was held at the Western Montana Veterans Cemetery on Friday, May 28.  Joe's Celebration of Life service was held at 2:00PM, Friday, May 28, at Frenchtown Community Church, with a reception following.

Joe Job was born in Rugby, N.D., on September 3, 1930, to George and Margaret Job. He was the 10th of 16 children. His family moved in 1936, to various towns in the Billings area, where he worked on the farm and later worked as a milkman in Billings before moving to Hardin. In 1949, his family moved to the Bitterroot Valley, where he met and married Alberta F. Graham on March 15, 1952.

Joe was drafted into the Korean War and was stationed at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., where he was later discharged and moved to Missoula to work at Intermountain Lumber Co. for 13 1/2 years.  In July of 1966, Joe hired on as a Oiler for the Frenchtown paper mill, which eventurally became known as Smurfit-Stone Container Corp, and worked there for the next 28 1/2 years.

Joe and Birdie raised four children who later graduated from Sentinel and Frenchtown High Schools.

He married Marge Wieferich in 1993, and retired in 1994.  He married Marilyn D. May on August 28, 2000, and they resided in Hamilton at the time of his death.

Joe was a Trustee of Local No. 885 and a member of the Accordion Jam Association.  He was often found on the dance floor and enjoying bowling and golf.  The amount of love Joe gave and received from his family and friends cannot be measured.  We are extremely grateful to the Lord to have had him as a part of our lives.

Surviving Joe is his wife Marilyn D. Job of Hamilton; sons David (Cindy) of Las Vegas, Larry (Laurie), and Stan (Kelly) of Frenchtown; daughter Janice (Bradley) Strosahl of Denver; 12 grandchildren Kari Carter, Josh Job, Shane Job, Lisa Job, Jennifer Mann, Amanda Ray, Amy Jimenez, Danielle Rinker, Lydia Zarling, Rachel Jackson, James Strosahl, Brittany Strosahl; and four great-grandchildren, Ava and Simone Carter, Jace Ray, and Cal Zarling. Joe is survived by his sisters Agatha Canton of Phoenix, Anna (Al) Kirschenmann of Billings, Dolores (Tony) Gress of Missoula; brothers John (Larene) of St. George, Utah, Jake of Libby, Tony (Ruth) of Bullhead City, Ariz., George of Laurel, Frank (Jenny) of Chewelah, Wash., Ben of Stevensville, Gene (Josie) of Las Vegas; and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Job; his brothers Wendell, Leonard, Leo; and his sisters Elizabeth Romine and Mary Ken.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tony Lakatua, Dr. Deb Sybrant, Dr. Mark Sanz, Dr. Bradley Berry, Dr. Susan Selbach, Dr. Peter Szekely and Marcus Daly Hospice.
