MISSOULA - Michael John Anderson, 33, a resident of Missoula died July 4, 2007, in a motorcycle accident close to Lolo Pass.

Mike was born to Dennis and Janet Anderson on January 29, 1974.  Mike attended grade school in Florence and graduated from high school in Alberton as the valedictorian of his class in 1994.  During high school Mike worked at the Tidyman’s Store.  Mike also worked as a jailer for Missoula County before joining the team at the Frenchtown Mill.  Mike was to be sworn in the second week of July 2007 as a reserve deputy for the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department.  When Mike wasn't working he was with his three children, riding his motorcycle or playing basketball in local leagues.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Vetaly, and grandparents Val and Harriet Loesch.

Mike was a wonderful and devoted father and he is missed by his three children, Moriah who was 10 at this time of his death, Hannah who was 8 and Brandon who was 6.  Mike leaves behind two sisters, Ronda Newsom and Nicol Ballard; two stepsisters Mirissa and Angela Vetaly.  Mike leaves two uncles, Jim and Val Loesch, and an aunt, Kathy Richie. Mike is survived by his father Dennis Anderson and his stepfather Bill Vetaly. Mike had numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Mike is missed by everyone that was touched by his life.

A memorial service was held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2007.  A reception followed in the community room at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the Guardian Angel Fund at Suite 301, Fort Missoula Road, Missoula, MT 59804.
