Dewey (Gerald) Campbell (Maintenance Supervisor) - Class of 1989 VIEW PROFILE

MISSOULA - Dewey (Gerald) Campbell, passed away peacefully at St. Patrick Hospital on October 7, 1999, surrounded by his loving family.

Dewey was born in Sidney, Nova Scotia on August 8, 1925, the son of John and Margaret Dwyer Campbell. On June 5, 1956, he was united in marriage to Doreen Elliott in Vancouver, British Columbia. Together they raised four daughters and one son. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed being with his entire family.

Dewey enjoyed camping, RVing, woodworking, winter trips and spending time with his grandchildren. He came to Missoula in 1961 and went to work for Horner-Waldorf and retired from Stone Container in 1989. He was a hard worker and spent many hours doing work for his church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Dewey is survived by his loving wife, Doreen of Missoula; his children and their spouses, Linda and Clyde Morris, Cathy and Eric Reiber, and John and Wende Campbell, all of Missoula, and Teresa and David Gierke and Jeri and Gary Fisher of Frenchtown. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nine sisters; and two brothers.

Visitation was held Saturday, October 9 at the Malletta Family of Funeral Home's Sunset Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection was held Monday, October 11 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with a reception to follow in Reidy Hall. Inurnment at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Dewey's name to the American Cancer Society, Missoula County Unit, P.O. Box 3914, Missoula, Mont. 59806.
