Jack Marks (A -Mechanic)

MISSOULA- Jack Marks, 76, passed away at home Friday, August 12, 2011.

Jack was born in Mecaha, the son of Peter D. and Mary (McDermott) Marks.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged November 17, 1956.

Jack married Janet Pumphrey in 1956.  She preceded him death in 1988.  Jack was a well driller and later worked at the Frenchtown mill for 32 years, retiring in 1998.  Jack and Jerri spent 10 years wintering in Arizona, making many friendships.

Jack is survived by his wife, Jerri; son, Scott Marks (Tina) of Spokane; and three stepchildren, Colette Lynn (Jay) Colson of Lolo, David McNally (Joanne) of Taylor, Mich., and Robert Whitaker of Fort Worth, Texas. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Inda Mosby of Miles City and Dorothy (Jerry) Weingart of Williams Lake, British Columbia; together with numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held August 24 at 3:00PM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.  A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Missoula or the Montana Veterans Association.  A special thank you goes out to Dr. Selbach and Jan of the Missoula V.A. and to Hospice of Missoula for all their thoughtfulness and caring.
