Basil Trollope (A -Mechanic) - Class of 1996 VIEW PROFILE

Basil Eugene Trollope, 81, of Missoula, passed away from cancer on Thursday, September 16, 2004 at St. Patrick Hospital.

Basil was born on May 20, 1923, the son of Esther and Charles Trollope, in Darby, where he graduated from high school. He married Clara Jane Bartz on October 15, 1955 and worked for Stone Container for 36 years until his retirement. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, enjoyed gardening and loved the challenge of many different welding and building projects he took on.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 nephews, Bill and Jeremy Trollope and a niece, Rachel Trollope. His family includes his wife, Clara, of the family home; and two children; a son, Steve Trollope, his wife Teri of Lolo, and their 2 children, Lynn Trollope and her daughter Hannah, of Denver, and Christian Trollope of Lolo; and his daughter, Judy Manning of Spokane; 3 brothers, Charles, Clyde and his wife Florence and Clifford and his wife Julia, all of Hamilton; and a sister, Gladys Hart of Corvallis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing and the service was held at the First Lutheran Church at 2808 South Ave. West, on Monday, September 20, 2004.  Burial was at the Sunset Memorial Cemetery and followed by a reception back at the church. The family suggested memorials be made to the Missoula Cancer Society, 3005 Queen St., Missoula, MT 59801; or to the First Lutheran Church Organ Fund.
