Martin Frelinger (Superintendent Power & Rec) - Class of 1980 VIEW PROFILE

Martin Frelinger was born August 2, 1928. 

Martin served our country in the US Navy.  He met his future wife, Roberta, on a blind date in Long Beach, California, in 1947. They were married in Longview, Washington on June 12, 1948.

Roberta and Martin settled in Longview, where their son J.D. and daughter Leslie were born.

In 1957, he and Roberta, along with several other families, left Washington and moved to the Missoula area to start operation of the Waldorf Pulp Mill.  In 1959 they made Frenchtown their permanent home.

At the time of his retirement, Martin was the Superintendent of the Power and Recovery Department.

Martin passed away on June 6, 1994, at the age of 65 from prostate cancer.  He was preceded in death by Roberta's and Martin's daughter Leslie.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; their son, J.D. and his wife, Diane Cameron; brother-in-law Doug (Barbara) Frelinger and numerous nieces and nephews.
