Al Duval (U. S. Bearings & Drives)

CLINTON – Allen D. “Al” Duval, 61, of Clinton, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011.  Al is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy; children, Shelle Duval-Lumpkin (Eric), Nicki Williams (Willy), Charlie Duval; his brother Gordon Duval (Susan); and his sisters, Peggy D. Smith, Sharon Duval; six grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.

Al and his wife moved to Montana 35 years ago from Nebraska, where he started his career in sales.  He worked in the industrial supply industry (Power Transmission, U.S. Bearings & Drives and Motion Industries), faithfully serving the Frenchtown mill, the lumber industry and other industrial manufacturers throughout Montana.  He took great pride in supporting Montana industry.

Al attended the Christian Life Center and lived his life with a deep and confident belief in God and the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department.  Al was an avid hunter and fisherman who knew and loved the beauty of Montana.  Al lived his life to the fullest and truly enjoyed meeting people.  His job allowed him to travel throughout Montana, learning the land and gaining friendships which endured.  Over the last year, he focused on marking things off of his “bucket list.”  Driving across the United States, he went deep sea fishing off the continental shelf, zip lined across mountain gorges in Costa Rica, rappelled into waterfalls and out fished his friends and family.

The family received friends at a remembrance service Tuesday, August 9, at the Christian Life Center in Missoula.  The family wishes to thank longtime friends for their loving support and care.
