In Memory

Everett Nelson - Class of 1992

Everett Nelson

MISSOULA– Everett Nelson was born to Alice and William Nelson on October 20, 1928, in Spokane and went to the Lord on Friday, January 17, 2014.

At a young age, he moved with his family from the Spokane/Davenport, Washington, area to St. Ignatius, where he graduated from high school.  Everett enlisted in the Army in 1954 and after being stationed in Germany was discharged in 1956. Upon returning to St. Ignatius, he married Martha Fe “Tina” Trickey on December 28, 1957.  They moved from St Ignatius to Missoula, where Everett worked at the pulp mill until his retirement after 30-plus years.

Everett had a green thumb and was able to grow anything.  He loved being out in his garden during warm weather and in the winter would be in the garage working on a woodworking project.  Everett loved music; every Wednesday in the summer he would go to Bonner Park for the music and would attend numerous concerts when the Choral Festival was being held.  Everett loved to travel and took tours to Australia, Mexico and New England.  He would love to take day trips just to see the countryside.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virene; wife, Martha “Tina”; and daughter, Carol.

Surviving are his children, Karen (John) Rhines of Sidney, Lori (Tim) Thompson of Pasco, Wash., and Mark Nelson of Missoula; and his grandchildren, Tina Thompson (Spokane), Jeremy Rhines (Sidney) and Jeffrey Thompson (Pasco).  Also surviving are two wonderful ladies, Donelda Nelson (Fallon, Nev.) and Mary Nelson (Missoula), and their families, who shared his life with his children.

At his request, no services were held.  Sunset Memorial Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Rest in Peace dear Friend.
