MISSOULA -- William "Bill" Lockwood, 80, of Missoula, passed away Monday, June 19, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living of natural causes.

He was born on August 10, 1936, in Missoula to Frank and Ethel Lockwood. He spent his younger years working for his family business "Forests West," which his father started in 1948. He traveled Montana's beautiful landscape with his father and brother collecting foliage which was dried, dyed and shipped around the United States as floral arrangements. During this time Bill attended and graduated from Missoula County High School where he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and track. After high school Bill served ten years in the National Guard.

Bill married the love of his life, Laurise, on May 8, 1964, in Missoula, where they resided. Bill was eventually employed by the paper mill in Frenchtown where he worked for over 20 years.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Laurise and adopted son Jim Lockwood.

He is survived by son Brian, adopted son Larry and daughter Denise; brother Chuck, grandchildren, Alyssa, Courtney, Chance, Tyler, Gabe, Rhianon, Kai and Robin; nephew Marty, as well as five great-grandchildren, Emmett, Corbin, Aiden, James and Jasper.
